Books Make Good Friends

Lotti isn't sure she wants to make friends. She's shy, and she doesn't really know how. While everyone around her is playful, outgoing, and loud, Lotti prefers a quiet place and a book to read. Lotti LOVES books. To her, books are full of magic and aren't as scary as new friends. But perhaps Lotti's books can show her how to find magic in everyday moments, and maybe the friends she can share this magic with are closer than she thinks.

About the Authors

Jane Mount is an illustrator, designer, writer, and maker of things. She was born and raised in Atlanta, formed in Manhattan, in love with Berlin, and now mostly lives in a log cabin on Maui with her husband, three weird cats, and two dogs. She has won awards for her graphic design skills and was once on Oprah's show, back in the day, for the way she designed her tiny apartment in Manhattan. (my dad was an architect and my mom an interior designer, so happily they passed some space smarts to me). She says "I need to be making things the way fish need to keep swimming, for life.  When I was little I thought people kept learning and learning until they knew absolutely everything, and then they could die. I'm still on that mission.
